Welcome to our September Newsletter
We are bringing you the detailed results of our June 2016 Father's Day and Services Survey. We've had time to analyse this in more depth and we hope you will find it of interest.
Before we go there, here are a couple of shorter items we'd like you to know about:
One of our Members and some friends have come forward (again) to support FNF. They are walking up one of North Africa's highest peaks. Samir Ghailan, is organising an effort to raise much needed funds for our charity so that we can continue to provide the support we do. Please see the JustGiving link that Sam has provided below for more details and I hope that some of you will be able to make donations.
Good luck Sam! www.justgiving.com/fundraising/kentfathers-part2
Members, attendees and supporters of FNF are invited to join our sixth presentation of this very popular course in East London (N16) starting MONDAY 26th SEPTEMBER. This is an accredited 13 week program run by fully trained and experienced facilitators Ian Findlay and Andy Simons who will be including material specific to meet the needs of separated parents.
Please see the attached leaflet for full details.
Background
FNF has many dedicated volunteers who run our 40+ branches and work on our Helpline with a relatively small national office staff supported by some volunteers and trustees.
There has been some healthy and lively debate amongst volunteers as to priorities for FNF and this included a good discussion at the March 2016 Annual General Meeting.
To get a more in-depth perspective of what members and service users think, we conducted an on-line survey in June 2016. The timing meant that we were also able to explore issues around Father’s Day. This was the third survey completed this year and it received 441 responses – the biggest response to any such a study in FNF’s history, only beaten in numbers participating by the Child Maintenance survey carried out since then.
A number of questions allowed respondents to provide written feedback. The responses were numerous, mostly positive and touching. A fair number have been included to give a flavour of what is being said. However, it’s not practical for all to be included.
This Summary report is attached.
And a more detailed version of this report may be found on our website.
Our heartfelt thanks to all those who participated!
